FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found the claim to be false.

Firstly, we noticed the name of the cafe in the background and ran a keyword search. We found that the ‘Friends Cafe‘ is located in Karnal, Haryana. Here’s the link to their Facebook page.

We then ran another search based on this and the search led us to a tweet by Rahul Srivastav, Additional SP Anti Terrorist Squad of Uttar Pradesh Police, who took to Twitter to rubbish the claim.

#FactCheck– A video of a gory murder by a cop outside a restaurant is floating since today morning on #socialmedia, triggering queries & confusion. On verification, it’s attributed to a #webseries shot outside ‘Friends Cafe’ in Karnal Haryana as per the manager of the Cafe,” he tweeted.

Based on this we did some more digging and were able to reach out to Vinay Kuhar–the actor who played a cop in the video.

Vinay confirmed to NewsMobile that the scene is in fact a part of an upcoming web series.  “This is a scene of our web series,” Vinay told NewsMobile.

Vinay also shared some more pictures of the shoot with NewsMobile.

Hence, from the above information, it is clear that the video is being circulated with a misleading claim.
