A video of some people engaged in a brawl is being shared on social media with a claim that it shows farmers thrashing Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn for showing his support to the contentious farm laws.
A Facebook user shared the picture with a Hindi caption, “अभिनेता अजय देवगन की पिटाई का वीडियो वायरल हुआ दिल्ली में अभिनेता अजय देवगन की पिटाई का वीडियो वायरल हुआ किसानों के मुद्दे पर विरोध बताया जा रहा है कारण”

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found that the claim is fake.
Firstly, we took keyframes of the video and put them through Reverse Image Search. This led us to an article by NDTV, dated March 28, 2021, featuring a snapshot from the video. The headline read, “Group Fight Erupts Near Delhi Airport After Two Cars Scrape Each Other”.
As per the article, a brawl broke out between two groups in Aerocity when one of their vehicles “slightly touched” another following which two men were arrested.
Those arrested were identified as Taranjit Singh (31), a resident of Janakpuri who deals in the sale and purchase of cars and Naveen Kumar (29), a resident of Chhawla village who is a property dealer.
We also found the video on YouTube published by India Today on March 27, 2021, with the title, “Delhi: Ugly Clash Caught On Camera In Delhi’s Aerocity | WATCH | Breaking News | India Today.”
The report also mentions that the viral video is from Aerocity in Delhi where a clash broke out between two groups.
We further found that Devgn’s team has issued a clarification that the reports of the actor getting beaten up outside the Aerocity mall in New Delhi are baseless and untrue.
The statement mentions that he has been in Mumbai the entire time shooting for Maidaan, MayDay and Gangubai Kathiawadu, and he hasn’t set foot in the national capital in the last 14 months.
Hence, from the above information, it is clear that the video does not show Ajay Devgn being thrashed by farmers and the claim being made in the viral post if false.
