Fact Check

NewsMobile fact-checked this post and found the claim to be false and misleading.

When we extracted keyframes from the video and put them through Reverse Image Search, we discovered that the post was published on YouTube on July 22, 2020, by newswire ANI.

We further checked Narottam Mishra’s Twitter account to check for any such recent announcement and found that the minister has himself cautioned that an old statement of him announcing a 10-day lockdown in Bhopal is going viral on social media.

He further stated that at present, the government has implemented lockdown only on Sundays in seven cities, namely, Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Khargone, Ratlam, Betul and Chhindwara.

We also also ran a keyword search on Google with the same keywords- ’10-day lockdown in Bhopal’, to look for the latest news reports, if any. But, all the reports dated back to 2020.

Thereby, with all the above information, it can be said that a Sunday lockdown has been imposed in seven cities in Madhya Pradesh including Bhopal, but no announcement regarding a 10-day lockdown has been made yet.
