In a first of its kind modern railway station in India, Bengaluru’s Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal looks no less than an airport.
The country’s first centralized air-conditioned railway terminal in Bengaluru would be operational soon, Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said in a tweet.

The station has been named after Bharat Ratna Sir M Visvesvaraya, this is Bengaluru’s third railway terminal in the Baiyappanahalli area and is built at an anticipated cost of ₹ 314 crores, the railway terminal is all set to be inaugurated later this month.
According to the Ministry of Railways, the railway station will have passenger amenities like a VIP lounge, food court and digital real-time passenger information system.
The Indian Railways have been working on a modern coaching terminal at Bengaluru’s Baiyappanahalli, which is equipped with all the modern facilities and is aimed to offer an airport-like aura to the passengers.
