Ahead of the upcoming Assam assembly elections, a video of a speech by All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Badruddin Ajmal is being shared on social media. According to the claim, Ajmal said he would convert India into an Islamic nation.
“भारत पर बरसों मुगलों ने शासन किया, और भविष्य में भी भारत इस्लामिक राष्ट्र बनेगा” मिलिये “सेकुलर” कांग्रेस के नए सहयोगी बदरुद्दीन अजमल से,” the Facebook post read.
(Translation: “India was ruled by Mughals for years, and India will also become an Islamic nation in future.” Meet ‘Secular’ Congress’s new ally Badruddin Ajmal.)
In the video, he can be heard saying, “In India, Mughal rulers have ruled for around 800 years, this nation will be an Islamic nation. Our alliance will form the ministry. The government will form with UPA and Mahagatbandhan together. And your party UDF will be a partner. In the entire nation, they would not have been a single Hindu. All will be converted to Islam.”

In the original video, he is saying, “In this India, for 800 years, Mughal Emperors had ruled and they did not have the guts to dream that this nation will become an Islamic nation. Had they wished, there wouldn’t have been even a single Hindu in India and everyone would have been a Muslim. But did they do that? They didn’t even try. Then the English ruled for 200 years and even they did not try to convert India into a Christian state. After independence, Congress ruled for 55 years. From Jawaharlal Nehru, Shastri, Rajeev Gandhi, Manmohan Singh to Narasimha Rao – none of them thought of making India a Hindu nation. Modi ji, don’t have this dream. Your dream will never come true. You give a fitting reply to Modi, BJP, RSS, Himanta Biswa and the party and vote for lock and key that Modi ji does not become Prime Minister. Who will form the ministry? Our Mahagathbandhan.
