Fact Check: Artwork By A 3D Artist Falsely Shared As A Fountain Resembling A Woman’s Head In Japan

Date:

A picture is being shared on social media with a claim that it is a waterfall in Japan which resembles a woman’s head.

“One of the most beautiful fountains around the world, the fountain of women’s head in japan,” the post caption read.

Here’s the link to the post.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobie fact-checked the post and found the claim to be false.

We put the image through Revese Image Search and found that found the same picture in an article from 2019 by The Future of Designs. “Chad Knight and his world of Digital Art,” the headline of the article read.

According to the article, the above picture is actually an artwork by 3D-artist Chad Knight.

We also found a graphic video of the same artwork on Facebook, where the same fountain can be seen at a different location in a different colour. And the video also had the watermark of Chad Knight’s Instagram handle.

We then went through his Instagram handle and found that he posted the same picture in 2018. In the tags, he mentioned key words like Art, digital art, concept art.

Hence, from the above information, it is clear that the picture is of artwork and is not a fountain in Japan.
