Infosys And Accenture To Bear Vaccination Costs For Their Employees


IT major Infosys and outsourcing services provider Accenture Plc said on Wednesday, they would cover COVID-19 vaccination costs for their employees in India.

They have become the first of all the organizations in India who have offered free vaccination for their employees.

“Infosys is looking at partnering with health care providers to vaccinate employees and their immediate families as eligible,” Chief Operating Officer Pravin Rao said in a statement.

For Accenture, cost for employees and dependents who are eligible and choose to receive the vaccination will be covered, the company said.

India’s vaccination campaign was ramped up on Monday, with the beginning of the second phase. In this phase,  people above the age of 60, and individuals 45 or older suffering from certain medical conditions are being inoculated.

 Till now several ministers and top bureaucrats have taken the vaccine shot, apart from this more than 50 Lakh people have registered on Co-Win 2.0 to get themselves vaccinated.

Vaccines being administered at government health facilities are free, while for private centres, the central government has capped the prices at Rs. 250 per dose.
