The Mumbai Police arrested a man for stopping Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn’s car on Tuesday morning. As per the police, the man blocked Devgn’s car over a tweet posted by him in connection with the ongoing farmers’ protest.
According to the police, the incident took place in Mumbai’s Goregaon area. The name of the accused person is Rajdeep Ramesh Singh.
As per reports, Rajdeep blocked Devgn’s car, misbehaved with him, and demanded the actor to comment in support of the farmers’ protest.
Singh reportedly hails from Punjab and is a supporter of the ongoing farmers’ protest against the three new farm laws formulated by the Central government.
The accused was arrested after one of Ajay’s bodyguards registered a complaint with the police.
Notably, after international personalities including Hollywood singer Rihanna and climate activist Greta Thunberg spoke out in support of the protesting farmers, Devgn was one of the many celebrities in India who came out in support of the government’s farm laws.
“Don’t fall for any false propaganda against India or Indian policies. Its important to stand united at this hour w/o any infighting (sic),” Devgn had tweeted.
