After some media reports suggested that Delhi Police has put up nails and spikes near protesting sites to stop entry of farmers, a few pictures of tractors with steel wheels are being shared on social media claiming that farmers are preparing tractors with tireless wheels, made of steel to overcome the nails and spikes.
The caption of the post read, ‘बिना टायर ट्यूब के चक्के तैयार किए जा रहे हैं ट्रैक्टर के
सरकार द्वारा सड़कों पर किले लगाने का जवाब देने के लिए, साहिब जी यह होता है आत्म निर्भर भारत’
(Translation- Wheels without tire tube are being prepared by tractor to tackle the nails planted by the government, sir this is self-dependent India)

We cropped the pictures and searched them individually and found that all the pictures in circulation are old.

We put the first picture through Reverse Image search and found the picture of the tractor with metal wheels on Tumblr uploaded 5 years ago. The caption of the picture read, ‘Modern tractor on steel wheels, pretty much the norm in my area with the old order menonites.’
It proves that the picture is old since it is in circulation on the internet since 2016.

On putting the second image through Reverse Image Search, we found a YouTube video dated July 18, 2019, featuring the same picture. The title of the video read, ‘Tractor IRON “Cage Wheels” Handmade The Proletariat Workers / Small Scale IndustrY’.

On putting the third image through Reverse Image Search, we found the picture on a stock image website, Dreamstime. The caption of the picture read, ‘This Massey-Harris Model 55 farm tractor came with steel wheels.’
We also found the picture of the above steel-wheeled tractor in Antique Power Magazine published in August 2014. The description of the image read, ‘1947 Massey Harris Model 55 on Steel Wheels Tractor formal photo-shoot portfolio.’

On putting the image of the blue tractor (fourth image) through Reverse Image Search, we found the image in a YouTube video dated June 27, 2013. The title of the video read, ‘Steel Wheels and New York Mennonites’.

Finally, on putting the last image of the tractor through Reverse Image Search, we found the picture in a blog which had mention of the 1930s John Deere tractors with dragon-tooth steel wheels.
This proves that all the pictures are old and not related to the ongoing farmers’ protest.
