After the clash between farmers and the security forces which took place on January 26, 2021, a video of a policeman breaking a CCTV camera is being shared online.
The caption of the post read, ‘#FarmersProtest Delhi police breaking the cctv camera so they can beat the protesting farmers without leaving any evidence‘.

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found the claim to be false.
When we extracted the keyframes of the video through InVid and put them through Reverse Image Search, we found the same video on a verified YouTube channel, Nyoooz TV, dated February 26, 2020. The title of the video read, ‘Delhi violence: Police break CCTV camera, manhandle protestors at Khureji Khas’.
With this information, we did another Reverse Image Search on the keyframes, this time along with keywords. We found a report by The Quint dated February 26, 2020, featuring a screengrab from the video.
According to the report, the video clip purportedly shows Delhi Police personnel breaking a CCTV camera near the Khureji protest in northeast Delhi.
The reporter from the organisation spoke to some shopkeepers near the petrol pump who said the video is from Khureji which dates back to February 26th 2020 . One of them said, “The police broke the CCTV cameras that we had put up in our shops too. The one in the video was put up by the protesters at Khureji.”
We found the same video on The Logical Indian’s Facebook page published in February 2020.
Therefore, the above information proves that the video in question is old and not related to the recent ongoing farmers’ protest.
