In a shocking incident, a man in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad has been forced by a group of hackers to pay upto Rs. 10 crore, to protect his obscene and private pictures from being leaked online.
In the alleged cyber crime incident, Ghaziabad police on Saturday said that the victim was threatened by these hackers that his obscene pictures would be circulated and his family’s personal details would be leaked online if their demands were not met.
Rajiv Kumar, the man who had filed the complaint lives in Vasundhara Colony and had approached police after the accused hacked into his email account. According to Kumar,he did not take this threat on his email seriously at first.

But cyber criminals started harassing them after sending more such emails. The miscreants also rang the doorbell of the victim’s house and then informed him via mail of their actions. Not just this, they also threatened to kill him for not paying the ransom.
The cyber crime cell of the police are probing the case and efforts are on to nab the hackers.
A case has been registered under sections of the Indian Penal Code including criminal intimidation, insulting modesty of women and intentional insult to provoke breach of peace, and section 66D of the IT Act, Deputy Superintendent of Police Anshu Jain told PTI.
The complainant has also stated that the hackers are keeping a watch on the activities of the family and continue to harass them.
