Fact Check: This Video Of Tower On Fire Is OLD and NOT Related To Farmers’ Protest; Here’s The Truth

A video of a mobile tower on fire is being shared on social media with a claim that a Jio mobile tower was set ablaze in wake of the ongoing farmers’ protest.

FACT CHECK 

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found the claim to be misleading.

We extracted keyframes of the video and ran it through Reverse Image Search. The search led us to a report by Amar Ujala from 2017 featuring the screenshot of the same video.

“PICS: Fire in the mobile tower on the roof of the house, housemates in panic” the translated headline of the article read.

According to the report, the incident is from Ankit Puram on GMS Road in Dehradun.

A similar report was also published by News 18 on June 29, 2017.

The above fact check proves that the video in circulation is OLD and has no relation with the ongoing farmers’ protest.
