The vaccination drive against the COVID-19 in India is about to begin. On Sunday, The Indian government gave the go-ahead for the emergency-use of two coronavirus vaccines – Covishield and Covaxin.
Two vaccines against COVID-19
For those unaware, Oxford University and AstraZeneca have manufactured Covishield, while Bharat Biotech has manufactured Covaxin. Back in December 2020, the government had announced the CoWIN app to channelize the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines in India.
How to register for vaccine on CoWIN app?
For registration, the CoWin app can be downloaded from Google play store or the Apple app store. However, it is to be noted that the application is yet to be launched.
The first phase of the vaccination will include frontline workers followed by people who are above 50 years old.
Once this application is up and running, it will have four modules — user administrator module, beneficiary registration, vaccination and beneficiary acknowledgment, and status update.
According to available information, the Co-WIN app or website will give three options for registration including self-registration, individual registration, and bulk upload.
Documents required for vaccine registration
Once the app is up and running, Indian citizens will be able to apply for the upcoming vaccine with the help of just a photo-identity document.
Users can submit a scanned copy of Voter ID, Aadhar card, driving license, passport, or pension document for self-registration on the Co-WIN website or app.
