A video of a Sikh family praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi is doing rounds all over social media. The video is being circulated in the backdrop of the ongoing farmers’ protest.
The Facebook caption read, “We have a great leader with us Modi #KisanStandsWithModi #FarmersWithPmModi @narendramodi”

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found the claim to be false and misleading.
When we saw the viral video carefully, we found the top and bottom of the video screen scribbled with black ink(colour).
Then, we found that the exact same video was uploaded on Facebook on April 22, 2020, with the Chinese App TikTok’s watermark.

Taking the clue from the TikTok watermark, we searched for Chachabhatijaa on Facebook and found a screenshot of his TikTok Page.
Moreover, we also found a news report on YouTube by Hello Giridih dated April 23, 2020, claiming that the video of TikTok star Taranjit Singh has gone viral.
In the video, Taranjit Singh claims that he recorded the TikTok video in April 20, 2020, and he also claims that he created this video to appreciate Prime Minister Modi for the lockdown decision that was taken to curb the number of COVID-19 cases in India.
Moreover, on his Facebook feed, we found a recent post by Chachabhatijaa dated December 15, 2020, claiming that he is in support of the farmers.
Hence, with the help of the above information, it is clear that an old TikTok video is falsely being shared as that of a Sikh family supporting PM Modi amidst the ongoing farmers’ protest.
