A video of an auto-rickshaw race is being shared on social media with a claim that the video is from India.

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found the claim to be false.

We extracted keyframes from the video and put them through Reverse Image Search. We found that the same video has been uploaded on YouTube by several channels and the description said that the video is from Sri Lanka.

“A rallying alternative? Tuk It racing in Sri Lanka,” the title of the video uploaded in June 2020 read.

Many other users shared similar videos of the race on YouTube.

The same video was also featured in an article by Financial Express dated June 12, 2020.

“Video: Auto-rickshaw racing where crashing is normal will leave you stunned,” the headline of the article read.

According to a CCN article, the race is called ‘Red Bull Tuk It’.

 

Hence, the above information proves that the video in circulation is not from India but from Sri Lanka.
