As per the caption, the incident took place at the Delhi-Uttar Pradesh border and the man, identified as Arun, was allegedly beaten up by the protesters at the ongoing farmers’ rally.
The tweet also mentioned that the man was beaten due to a media interview and not because of pro-Pakistan slogans.
The same video was uploaded by other local media channels with the same claim.
This shows that the man in the video is Arun and NOT Umesh, as claimed by the viral post. Moreover, the reason for the thrashing mentioned also differs.
We also ran another search but did NOT find any media report about any BJP leader raising pro-Pakistan slogans at the ongoing farmers’ protest.
We also checked official website of BJP but did not find any information about any leader by the name of Umesh Singh.
We then checked the website of My Neta to gather more information but did not find details of any leader by the name of Umesh Singh belonging to BJP.
Hence, from the above information, it is clear that the man in the video is NOT a BJP leader and hence, the post in circulation is misleading.
