Union Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises along with Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari took to twitter to announce the initiative of vedic paint made from cow dung. “Through the Khadi and Village Industries Commission, we are soon going to launch a ‘Vedic Paint’ made of cow dung through the rural economy and farmers should get extra income. @ChairmanKvic.” Read the tweet.

Gadkari spoke of boosting the rural economy and how this decision will give farmers the opportunity to gain extra money. This decision came through the Khadi and Village Industries Commission which is headed by Vinai Kumar Saxena since 2015.

The Vedic paint will come in distemper and emulsion and will be eco-friendly, anti- bacterial and anti-fungal. The paint is expected to dry in 4 hours which is another plus point.
Amidst farmer protests and welfare of farmers being a central focus, Gadkari says farmers into animal husbandry will gain an additional Rs.55,000 a year due to this decision.
