NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found it to be misleading.

We cropped the picture and ran a Reverse Image Search, which led us to the same picture on Wikimedia Commons.

“Aerial Photography William J Clinton Presidential Inauguration, aerial of White House” The picture title read.

According to the picture description, this picture was taken in 1993 by Carl Hansen.

The picture is also available on Alamy Stock Photo website with the same description.

We also compared these pictures, with the one available on Facebook to confirm, that they were the same (marked in Yellow).

Moreover, we searched and found that the Presidential inauguration takes place on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol.

The Washington Post reported that ‘the 46th President of the United States will be sworn in on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. Both the vice president-elect and president-elect will take Oaths of Office.’

According to the government website, ‘The Architect of the Capitol (AOC) erects the inaugural platform on the Capitol’s West Front, sets up the necessary seating and fencing on the grounds, and coordinates other activities with the Joint Congressional Committee on the Inaugural Ceremonies (JCCIC) regarding all of the physical arrangements that are necessary to accommodate this event.’

We then checked social media pages of Joint Congressional Committee on the Inaugural Ceremonies (JCCIC) and found pictures of the construction of the platform, which were uploaded on November, 20, 2020.

“The construction continues! Here’s a glimpse of the progress made in the last week on the Inaugural Platform for the 59th Inaugural Ceremonies, ” the post read.
