Proud Moment: 17-yr-old Surat Girl Appointed As UNEP’s Indian Green Ambassador

Passionate about environmental conservation and focused on spreading awareness about a cleaner environment, 17-year-old Khushi Chindaliya from Surat has been appointed as Regional Ambassador for India by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) – Tunza Eco-Generation (TEG).

An avid nature lover committed to the cause of clean environment, Khushi will work with  TEG on various environmental awareness programmes till February 2021.

Daughter of textile businessman Basant Chindaliya and astro vastu counsellor mom Binita, Khushi utilized the lockdown period on working on the environment to chalk out a blueprint on how environmental degradation could be arrested.

Among the 100 young Indians whose essays were chosen by UNESCO to be published in a book ‘Year 1 AC (After Coronavirus): Essays by 100 Young Indians’, Khushi will be sharing reports and speaking on what India is doing on environment front and how education can play a pivotal role to arrest environmental degradation with her other peers from other countries.

In 2019, Khushi was inducted as a member and international ambassador of the National Society of High School Scholars, an international society run by descendants of Sir Alfred Nobel.
