Arya Samaj leader and social activist Swami Agnivesh passed away in New Delhi on Friday evening. He was 80.
He was suffering from liver cirrhosis and was critically ill and on ventilatory support since Tuesday at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences in the national capital due to multi-organ failure.
“His condition deteriorated today and he went into cardiac arrest at 6:00 PM. Resuscitation was attempted but the stalwart passed away at 6:30 PM,” said a statement by the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences.

Agnivesh, a former MLA from Haryana, founded Arya Sabha, a political party based on the principles of the Arya Samaj.
