Multiple posts have been doing the rounds on social media with claims that on the occasion of Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani being declared as the world’s sixth-richest person, his wife Nita Ambani has offered a free 3-month recharge of Rs. 349 free to 99,000 Jio users.

Such messages have also been circulating on WhatsApp.

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the above claims and found them to be false. We first clicked on the link in these posts and they all led us to bogus links.
The link on few of the Facebook posts led us to a Google Play store link for an App called Mall 91.
The link in the WhatsApp message led us to a website called http://free-gift.xyz/#
Further, we scanned the official website and Twitter accounts of Jio for these offers and there were no such updates.
Moreover, the posts themselves contained inconsistencies. One post said the offer was for Rs. 349 while another reported it to be for Rs. 399.
We also found a media report by the Indian Express listing all Jio offers in 2020. The Rs. 349 offer read as follows:
Hence, it is clear that the links claiming to be Jio offers in the viral posts are bogus and false. Jio has not launched such an offer.
