  • Former Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak was found guilty on Tuesday of charges related to misappropriation of 42 million Malaysian Ringgit (RM) from the state fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad(1MDB).The Malaysian high court Judge Mohd Ghazali, who read the detailed judgment, said that the defence had failed to establish any doubts against the prosecution’s case, New Straits Times reported. 
  • Indian and Chinese frontline troops have completed disengagement at most locations, the Chinese government said on Tuesday, adding that the preparation is underway to hold the next round of military-level talks to resolve the border issues.”Chinese and Indian border troops on the frontline have disengaged in most locations. The 5th round of commander-level talks is currently under preparation to resolve the remaining issues,” Chinese state media Global Times quoted Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin as saying.
  • China on Tuesday announced the suspension of Hong Kong’s extradition treaties with Canada, Australia and Britain after the three countries announced similar decisions in protest to controversial new security law.Canada, Australia and Britain are part of the ‘Five Eyes’ intelligence alliance. The other members, New Zealand, which suspended its extradition treaty with Hong Kong earlier on Tuesday, and the United States, which has signalled it is preparing to do the same. 
  • France has donated 120 ventilators and 50,000 COVID-19 testing kits to India to combat the spread of the virus as the total count of positive cases in the country has inched closer to 1.5 million-mark.French Ambassador Emmanuel Lenain on Tuesday handed over medical supplies to RK Jain, Secretary-General of Indian Red Cross Society. The French Air Force delivered the medical equipment on Tuesday.
  • Five Pakistan policemen were killed in an exchange of fire during a midnight raid in Diamar’s Chilas district in Pakistan occupied Gilgit-Baltistan area on Tuesday.Another fire officers suffered injuries in the incident, Geo News reported. The incident happened in the Chilas area when suspects opened fire on the officers.
