Addressing the press about the ongoing political turmoil in Rajasthan, Senior Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala said that he and congress leader Ajay Maken, have spoken to numerous people to understand the issues and everything is under control. The presser was held after the Congress legislative party meeting in Jaipur.

He also added that in the last 72 hours the Congress leadership has spoken with deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, a number of times regarding the current political situation in the state.

He addressed the political dispute as a ‘family problem’ and iterated that the solution will come within the family only. He also slammed all rumours of Pilot leaving the party. There has been no communication from Sachin pilot on any social media platforms or official written communication, hence it is wrong to attribute anything to him, especially about leaving the party, he said.

He affirmed that the Congress government in Rajasthan is strong and has the full support of all its MLAs.

As per sources, almost 100 MLAs were present for the Congress legislative party meeting in Jaipur on Monday morning at 1030 am. This leaves Sachin Pilot with less than 10 MLAs in support.

The political crisis deepens in Rajasthan as CM Ashok Gehlot has alleged the BJP of conspiring to topple his government by indulging in horse-trading. BJP, however, has denied the allegations.
