Fact Check: Here’s the truth behind this viral mask with DPS logo

Wearing masks has become mandatory if you are planning a visit to a mall, restaurant, or even a place of worship after the Government issued guidelines for restarting of establishments from June 8.

Soon after the release of the guidelines, a picture of a mask with insignia of Delhi Public School started making rounds on the social media.

The posts claimed that it is mandatory for the student of DPS to buy and wear these masks which cost Rs 400 each.

 

 

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found it to be false.

We found that many parents took to Twitter to clarify that their children’s school has not endorsed this mask.

Replying to one of the posts, a Twitter user, Asha Kishan wrote, “My daughter is in DPS. Got message from DPS that they have not endorsed or made any masks and parents r not to buy these DPS logo masks.”

Asha ,whose daughter is a student of DPS, Bengaluru South, also sent us the message she received from the school.

 

Taking to NewsMobile, DPS, Vasant Kunj said that they have no information regarding this and they have not endorsed any such masks.

We also found a Facebook post by Delhi Public School, Fulbari confirming that the post in question is fake. 

DPS, Siliguri and DPS, Bhopal posted a similar message.

The above information proves that the post in circulation is false.
