India on Tuesday maintained its higher daily spikes in COVID-19 cases as it recorded 6,535 new positive cases and 146 deaths in the last 24 hours.
Here are the top 10 developments in India this morning:
1. India recorded 6,535 cases in the last 24 hours. 146 fresh deaths were also recorded.
2. The total number of cases in the country now at 1,45,380 including 80,722 active cases, 60,490 cured/discharged and 4167 deaths, as per the latest Ministry of Health and Family Welfare data.
3. Maharashtra, which has emerged as the worst Coronavirus-hit state in the country, has so far recorded 52,667 cases, including 1,695 fatalities and 15,786 recoveries. Tamil Nadu followed with 17,082 cases and Gujarat with 14,460 cases. The Covid-19 tally in Delhi has crossed the 14,000-mark with as many as 14,053 cases recorded so far in the national capital.
4. States with most casualties after Maharashtra are Gujarat (888), Madhya Pradesh (300), West Bengal (278), and Delhi (276)
5. States with more than 6,000 cases are Rajasthan (7,300), Madhya Pradesh (6,859) and Uttar Pradesh (6,532).
6. 13 new COVID-19 cases reported taking the total number of cases in Assam to 539, including 470 active cases and four deaths: Himanta Biswa Sarma, State Health Minister.

10. More lockdown relaxations announced in Rajasthan-
- Rajasthan Government permits taxis and autorickshaws (including aggregators like Ola and Uber) to travel to and from railway station, airport and hospitals, in red zones, except containment zones.
- Two passengers along with driver in taxis and one passenger along with driver in autorickshaws allowed.
- The state has also allowed the sale of ‘paan, gutkha & tobacco’ for take away. Prohibition on consumption in public and spitting to remain in force.
