Want to take a domestic flight starting today? Here’s all you need to know

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has issued a detailed list of guidelines for the resumption of domestic flight services starting on Monday.

On the first day the airlines will operate at only 1/3 of the total capacity and passengers will have to download the Aarogya Setu application and follow stringent norm of social distancing.

Here is the complete list of guidelines that will need to be followed:

1. All passengers will have to wear masks and other protective equipment from the beginning of the trip till the very end. They will have to enter the airport two hours before their journey.

2. All those traveling must download the Aarogya Setu application and anyone whose status is seen to be red will not be allowed to board the aircraft.

3. The authorities have gone for partial digitization. At every stage, efforts have been taken to avoid any sort of physical contact with the passengers. They are required to digitally check-in and keep the boarding pass and other documents in the electronic form.

4. Once a passenger enters the airport, their temperatures will checked and they will be let in only after their status on the Aarogya Setu is displayed. Those who do have not the app will be directed to a special counter which will help them with the procedures.

5. Passengers are required to sign a form that they have come from any containment zones, Red zones and aren’t suffering from fever, cough and other COVID-19 related symptoms.

6. Those who violate the above mentioned law are liable to be persecuted for their crime.

7. Baggage tags will henceforth be procured automatically at designated counters.

8. Passengers will then drop their luggage at the check-in counter. The staff will stick the baggage tag and check the boarding pass.

9. Two pieces of luggage will be allowed per person. One check in luggage and one hand baggage will be allowed.

10. The security check will be speeded up.

11. The entire process is expected to be finished in 1 hour.

12. In the aircraft, there will be no sale or distribution of food and beverages. A bottle of water will be left at the seats.

13. Passengers have also been advised not to rush forward to deplane. They will have to maintain social distancing while de-boarding.

14. Passengers have also been advised to take only taxis and transport facilities approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
