Kejriwal to meet LG to discuss public suggestions on lifting COVID-19 lockdown at 4 pm today

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said his government has received more than five lakh suggestions from people in the national capital on how to safely exit in a graded manner from the lockdown.

“We had sought suggestion from people, we have received more than 5 lakh suggestions. Based on these suggestions, we will send a proposal to the Centre. Most have suggested that schools and educational institutes should stay closed till summer vacations,” Kejriwal said.

He further said that the suggestions will be discussed at 4 pm today in the meeting of State Disaster Management Authority and Lieutenant Governor.

A proposal on how much relaxations should be given in Delhi will be sent to the Central government after the meeting, he added.

He said businesses like salons, spas and cinema halls are risky as people could come in contact despite strict social distancing guidelines, indicating that they may remain shut.

“Majority of people are in favour of the resumption of bus services, but with strict social distancing norms in place,” he said.
