India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar has once again underscored the threat posed by terrorism in the region and beyond. He said that it poses a threat to the peace and stability amongst the members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
These remarks were made during a video-conference attended by the Foreign Ministers of all member nations of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

Jaishankar called on nations to desist from promoting acts of terrorism and called for collective action against this threat to humanity.
The Minister’s remarks came in the backdrop of Pakistan state-sponsored terrorism in Afghanistan which has recently witnessed a sharp rise in the number of attacks.
The EAM also highlighted the various steps taken by the government of India to fight COVID-19 and specifically pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced a massive fiscal stimulus of USD 266 billion which constitutes almost 10% of the total GDP.
Going forward, the External Affairs Minister indicated that the nations will have to unite to fight COVID-19 and affirmed India’s support to the resolution that was adopted at the end of the conference.
