Lockdown 4.0 will have new rules, says PM as he rolls out ‘Self Reliant India Mission’

India will have another lockdown, but it will have new contours and new rules which will be announced before May 18, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said while addressing the nation on Tuesday.

”Lockdown 4” will be different and have new rules and you will be informed about it before May 18,” the PM said.

Underlining that the coronavirus will be a part of our lives for a long time to come, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that India can’t allow that our lives get confined around the virus. He said that ”we will wear mask, observe do gaz ki doori” but will also not let the virus affect us.

Launching what he called the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, or Self-reliant India Mission, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that announcements made by the government so far, the recent RBI decisions and the package announced today were worth Rs 20 lakh crores or 10 percent of India’s GDP.

Stating that people from all sections will be benefited through this package, the PM said that the emphasis has been on land, labour, liquidity and laws.

The PM also said that the economic package is for the farmers and labourers who toil in all conditions for the rest of the countrymen. He added that it is also for the middle class which diligently pays its taxes.

The PM said that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will share details of the special economic package in days to come.

He further added that this package will increase the efficiency of all sectors and ensure quality.

Underlining the importance of local, the PM said that ”local has saved us during the crisis” and that ”local is not just a necessity but our responsibility”. ”We should make local our life’s mantra..Every Indian has to become vocal for local”, the PM added, saying that this crisis has shaken the greatest of systems.
