Did Aamir Khan donate money hidden in wheat bags to poor families? Here’s the truth

Date:

When the whole country is going through tough times due to the Coronavirus outbreak, a claim has surfaced on the internet according to which Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has been helping out needy ones discretely by donating cash in wheat flour packets to nearby slums.

Another port read: “The other day in India, Aamir Khan made a very unusual donation. From his face, poor people were given 1 kg of flour. And that is all. Just one kg of flour. Many people didn’t even give in for the sake of such a trifle, but only those who really needed and who had nothing to eat came. As a result, everyone who took 1 kg of flour was found in a package of 15,000 rupees. That is, only those who really needed them received the money.”

FACT CHECK

We fact-checked the above claims and found them to be false. We went to the actor’s official Twitter account where he had confirmed that he is not putting any money in wheat bags. His full tweet reads:

“Guys, I am not the person putting money in wheat bags. Its either a fake story completely, or Robin Hood doesn’t want to reveal himself!
Stay safe.
Love.
a”

Hence, it is clear that Aamir Khan made no such donation and the claims are fake.
