With the addition of 583 new positive patients, Maharashtra today crossed 10,000-mark in Covid 19 positive cases.
The total tally of infected patients now stands at 10,498. State health department official said that 27 more patients succumbed to the disease, taking the toll to 459. Mumbai is the leading contributor to the COVID- 19 positive cases in the state.

Today as many as 417 new cases were reported from the metropolis alone taking the total tally of positive cases to 6875.
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said the death toll in the metroplis went up to 290 with 20 more people succumbing to the infection. BMC said as many as 498 suspected patients have been admitted to various hospitals in the city. As many as 1,459 containment zones have been created in the city, where at least one coronavirus positive or suspected patient were found.
Meanwhile, the total number of novel coronavirus cases in the country has increased to 33,610 after 1,823 fresh positive Covid-19 patients were reported in the last 24 hours, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Along with that, with 67 more death since yesterday, the toll rose to 1,075, it said.
