A video is doing rounds on social media in which various lakes, waterfalls and gardens can be seen. It is being claimed that the video has been shot at the mount Kailash located near the Manasarovar lake.
The caption of the video read: “This video is real, taken at Kailas, Maan Sarovar from 18,600 feet height in Chinese Tibet. It is not edited. See the mesmerizing beauty of nature. Never seen before. Owesome, wonderful.”
NewsMobile fact-checked the above video and found that the claim attached to the video is false.
We extracted the keyframes of the video through InVid. On putting them through Reverse Image Search, we came across a video published by People’s Daily, China titled ‘Blue Moon Valley, a bright turquoise river in China’s Yunnan’ which featured the same video.
The video features the Blue Moon Valley that lies at the foot of Yulong Snow Mountain near Lijiang, China. On the floor of Blue Moon Valley lie four lakes, each with its own distinct color: Jade Wine Lake, Mirror Pond, Blue Moon Lake, and Wave-Listening Lake, which are shown in the viral video.
In conclusion, the above information establishes that the video is NOT of Mount Kailash.
