Keeping up with his “America First” policy, US President Donald Trump has conveyed his intention to introduce an immigration ban through an executive order. This will be applicable for a period of 60 days and will pertain to the processing of ‘Green card’ applications. The US President announced that this will ensure that the norm of “American Jobs for Americans” is maintained. The US economy is under considerable stress ahead of the Presidential elections in November.

Lastly, the US appears to be a divided house when it comes to easing the restrictions associated with social distancing. Trump had announced a three phased plan of lifting the lockdown last week. However, only a handful of states have agreed to implement this. Major states like New York have in fact extended the lockdown within their jurisdictions.
