Kartarpur Sahib structure damaged; India takes it up strongly with Pakistan

The Ministry of External Affairs has taken up the issue of collapse of domes in the Darbar Sahib, connected to India by the Kartarpur corridor strongly with Pakistan.

Considering the emotional value and high reverence to the Gurudwara by not only the Sikhs but by every other citizen of India, the Pakistani authorities have been asked to undertake all repair works and fix it immediately.

The domes of the Gurudwara collapsed in a thunderstorm on Saturday in the Naorowal district of Punjab in Pakistan.

The Gurudwara considered to be the last resting place of the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak has been attacked in the recent past and the pilgrims have been thrashed by local goons in Pakistan.

The Kartarpur Corridor project was inaugurated by both the countries in November last year. It is about 5 kms and connects Gurudaspur in India to Naorowal in Pakistan.
