The Centre has advised measures to the states/district administrations for the containment of the novel coronavirus outbreak in the country.
The measures include cluster containment in hotspots, wider testing and ensuring protective gear for health and security personnel.
Here’s how the government has planned to contain the deadly virus:
1. The COVID-19 containment starts with the identification of hotspots and their categorization into Red, Orange and Green Zones.
Currently, the Centre has listed 170 districts across the country as COVID-19 ‘hotspots’, and another 207 districts as ‘potential hotspots’.
2. The strategic approach for COVID-19 containment broadly involves defining the area of operation, applying perimeter control, delineating containment and buffer zones, active search for cases, contact tracing, quarantine, clinical management and awareness generation among the public.
