They should be shot: Raj Thackeray makes controversial remark against Tablighi Jamaat

MNS chief Raj Thackeray on Saturday said that the Tablighi Jamaat members who reportedly misbehaved with women medical staff during quarantine and are engaged in “some conspiracy” be killed by firing bullets. He also questionned the need for giving medical treatment to such people.

Lashing out at Tablighi Jamaat after Delhi’s Nizamuddin West episode, Raj Thackeray said PM Modi must speak on this incident, what is happening in the country. These people are sticking their spit on currency notes, food. They should be beaten in public so that others must learn a lesson.

He also said the people would have felt satisfied had Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked about the current scenario and where the country is heading at in its fight against coronavirus than the latter just speaking about lighting up lamps and candles.

Maharashtra confirmed cases jump to 537

With 47 fresh cases of deadly novel coronavirus reported on Saturday, Maharashtra’s confirmed cases have now jumped to 537, according to the figures released by state’s Health Ministry.

Mumbai has emerged as coronavirus hotspot not just in Maharashtra but across the country. Most of the fresh cases have surfaced from Mumbai i.e. 28 while 15 from Mumbai metropolitan region and Thane (excluding Mumbai), 2 in Pune and 1 each from Amravati and Pimpri-Chinchwad.

Maharashtra has so far seen 26 deaths due to coronavirus disease while 50 people have managed to beat the virus. Mumbai, India’s commercial capital, is followed by Pune with 70 coronavirus positive cases so far.
