According to media reports, the Central Asian Republic of Turkmenistan which has reported zero positive cases till date has banned the usage of the word ‘corona’ amongst its citizens and all brochures printed to be delivered to schools, Hospitals and other educational institutes.
Paris based ‘Reporters without Borders’ also mentioned that the mere mention of the virus attracts a jail term and imprisonment by plain clothed policemen.
The gas rich country which is known to be neutral in its foreign policy projections has reported zero cases and shares a border with Iran which is one of the epicentres of the virus with more than 44,000 reported cases.

It has been ruled by Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov since 2006.
Globally, more than 40,000 people have died due to this virus and more than 8.60 lakh people have tested positive.
