Fact Check: Old video from Azerbaijan re-shared as lockdown in Spain

video has surfaced on the internet in which security personnel can be seen clearing an area by pushing people away. It has been claimed that the video is from Spain, during the lockdown, that has been enforced because of Coronavirus.

The caption of the video reads: “This is lockdown in Spain guys in India are lucky…”

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above video and found that the claim attached to the video is FAKE.

Firstly, in the above video, ‘Toplum TV’ can be seen written on the top left corner. On putting the keyframes of the video through Reverse Image Search along with ‘Toplum TV’ as the keyword, we found the full version of the video on the YouTube channel of ‘Toplum TV’.

According to the title of the video dated October 19, 2019, the incident took place in Azerbaijan. The title and description of the video suggest that “the National Council and the Popular Front Party held a rally in the centre of Baku in Azerbaijan on October 19, 2019.

Hence, the above information proves that the video in question is old and is NOT from Spain. It also proves that it has no connection to the Coronavirus issue.
