No plans to further extend national lockdown: Cabinet Secretary

According to reports by ANI, Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba has stated that there are no further plans to extend the national lockdown currently being enforced throughout the country to fight the deadly Coronavirus.

This clarification from the Cabinet Secretary comes at a time when rumour mongering and fake news regarding possible extension of the National lockdown by the government is gaining ground, especially on various social media platforms.

During a health emergency such as the current one, irresponsible individuals are basking in glory spreading fake news which is creating an atmosphere of tension around the nation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had last week announced a 21-day national lockdown to fight the virus.

All establishments except those providing essential services shall remain closed for a period of 21 days till April 14.
This will include rail and air traffic too.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has said that the number of positive cases in India has crossed over 900 and there is no community spread yet of this deadly virus.
