COVID:19- Bhutan, Nepal contribute to SAARC emergency fund to fight virus

Bhutan and Nepal on Friday contributed to the recently established SAARC emergency fund to fight the deadly Coronavirus.

Bhutan contributed a sum of USD 100,000 and Nepal contributed USD 1 Million to the fund.

This fund was established last Sunday when Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Organised a video conference in which all SAARC Heads of States, except Pakistan, participated to deliberate on joint collective efforts to fight the deadly virus.

India contributed USD 100 million apart from pledging all forms of assistance-technical, economical and direct intervention.

The Prime Minister was praised by everyone for displaying stellar leadership in the region and beyond for proactively tackling this deadly virus that originated from China.

Pakistan took half hearted measures and used the opportunity on Sunday to raise the frivolous issue of Jammu and Kashmir.
