All offices in Mumbai, Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad and Nagpur will remain shut from Friday midnight till March 31, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said.
However, all essential services will continue to operate. Government offices will run with 25% of staff. The state government has also cancelled exams of class 1 to 8, Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad announced.

In Delhi, after shut down of schools and restaurants, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday informed about the closure of the malls in the national capital, adding that grocery, pharmacy and vegetable shops in them will remain open.
“In view of the prevailing situation, we are closing down all Malls (except grocery, pharmacy and vegtable shops in them),” Mr Kejriwal tweeted.
