Date:

The International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8 every year. On the special occasion, various Bollywood celebrities took to social media and extended their wishes.

Take a look at what Bollywood celebs have to say on Women’s Day 2020.

Anil Kapoor shared a photo of his wife, Sunita Kapoor and daughter Sonam and Rhea along with a heartfelt caption. The actor wrote, “Every day is their day in our lives and our home… #SunitaKapoor @sonamakapoor @RheaKapoor”

Malaika Arora shared a candid photo of herself and wrote an inspiring message for all women. “The happiest women today are not the married ones. They’re not the single ones. They’re not the ones with stable careers and good incomes. The happiest women are the ones who made a choice to love themselves wholly and truly…They are happy because they don’t need validation from anyone. They are happy because they know that they don’t need to throw shade on anyone for them to shine. They are happy because they chose to be Queens …. Happy Women’s day today n everyday … such beautiful words.”

The happiest women today are not the married ones. They’re not the single ones. They’re not the ones with stable careers and good incomes. The happiest women are the ones who made a choice to love themselves wholly and truly. Women who chose to leave the past behind, worked on their self-esteem and put a high price tag on their self-esteem. They stopped playing victims. They stopped whining in self-pity and dining in pity parties. They moved past their anger, tears and bitterness. They realized that happiness is a personal choice and responsibility. They chose to be defined by their present, but not their pasts. They are happy because they don’t need validation from anyone. They are happy because they know that they don’t need to throw shade on anyone for them to shine. They are happy because they chose to be Queens …. Happy Women’s day today n everyday ♥️… such beautiful words

Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu posted a photo, on Instagram, with the female cast of her latest release Thappad including Dia Mirza, that also featured director Anubhav Sinha and wrote, “From us… to you… Happy Women’s Day! Make sure you do your bit towards the change you want to see 🙂 We did a bit from our side #Thappad”

Shilpa Shetty, who is set to make her comeback in Bollywood, also took to Instagram to share what she felt about this special day. Here’s an excerpt, “Much like the two parallel lines in an ‘=’ ( EQUAL) sign, all we ask for, is to be considered at par in all that we do. To be given a chance at life and not be killed in the womb. To receive education like our brothers do. To feel safe in our own homes, societies, and countries. Let’s come together and make it an Egalitarian society as a unified force, to ensure our current and future generations can experience ‘equality’ in reality by pledging to be #EachForEqual. Let’s BE the change we wish to see. Happy Women’s Day!”

Much like the two parallel lines in an ‘=’ ( EQUAL) sign, all we ask for, is to be considered at par in all that we do. To be given a chance at life and not be killed in the womb. To receive education like our brothers do. To feel safe in our own homes, societies, and countries. To have our ambitions, dreams, and goals be given due importance. To be accorded equal opportunities and not be held back from progressing in our chosen paths. To be paid equally like all our counterparts when the input is equal. A woman’s right to equality has been understated for centuries. It’s 2020! Let’s come together and make it an Egalitarian society as a unified force, to ensure our current and future generations can experience ‘equality’ in reality by pledging to be #EachForEqual. Let’s BE the change we wish to see. Happy Women’s Day! Today and every day💪 . . . . . . . . #IWD2020 #InternationalWomensDay2020 #womensrights #equality

It’s International Women’s Day. And it got me thinking about the many many people that have inherited a planet so alive and beautiful… Alive and beautiful, equally for us ALL. Why then, is there such an imbalance? Gender inequality is deeply connected with the climate emergency. Gender based solutions are equally connected to climate action. Just like behind every empowered, successful man is a woman; a mother, a sister, a friend a colleague, a partner, a stranger. Behind every empowered successful woman is a man; a father, a brother, a friend, a colleague, a partner, a stranger. Meera is 1 😍 Don’t we want her and millions of other girls and boys to grow up in a safer, healthier, happier world? We ALL do. Happy Women’s Day Meera raniiii! Maasi loves you and will work ONE day at a time to make our lives better. In the meanwhile you keep being the curious, wondrous, playful one🌳🌏🧡 @amitashar @bhavnaruparel and the rest of us will continue to do our bit 🙌🏼 🤗🙃 Photo by Papa Ashar. @amitashar #GenerationEquality #IWD2020 #WomensDay #SDG5 #GlobalGoals
