Fact Check: Video of removal of street vendors ahead of Trump’s visit is NOT from Ahmedabad

Ahead of US President Donald Trump’s India visit, a video has surfaced on social media in which a fruit cart can be seen being demolished. It is being claimed that the video is from Ahmedabad and the administration is removing street hawkers ahead of Trump’s visit to Ahmedabad.

The caption of the video reads: “Look how Ahemdabad is getting ready to welcome Donald Trump, is this part of Gujarat Model?”

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above video and found that it is from Bhubaneswar.

We extracted the keyframes of the video using the InVid tool and put them through Reverse Image Search. On the Russian search engine, Yandex, we found a link to a YouTube video uploaded by OTV.

On carefully examining the video, we noticed that in the viral video, the same supervisor can be spotted. Moreover, some of the people present there, can be seen in both the videos.

Kanak News also posted a reaction video of people after the incident took place.

The above information proves that the viral video is not from Ahmedabad and it has no connection with President Trump’s India visit.
