This picture is NOT from CAA protest in Shaheen Bagh; here’s the fact check

A picture of a huge gather of Sikh people has surfaced on the internet and it has been claimed that the picture is from Shaheen Bagh where people are protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019 for more than 50-days.

The caption of the picture read: “United Colours of India 🇮🇳
Shaheen Bagh. Delhi. 6th February 2020”

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found that the claim attached to the picture is false.

On putting the picture through Reverse Image Search, we found the same picture posted by the official Twitter handle of Youth Akali Dal on April 18th, 2018.

The Tweet read: ਮੇਰੇ,ਤੇਰੇ ਅਸਾਡੇ ਸਭਨਾ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਹੈ ਸਜਦੀ ਬਾਹਲੀ
ਇਹ “ਦਸਤਾਰ” ਸਿੱਖ ਦੀ ਬਣਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਨ ਹੈ ਨਿਰਾਲੀ|

(Translation: My, the head of our sauna is a beautiful multitude
This “dastar” is a Sikh’s glory #MeriDastaarMeriShaan)

Hence, the above information proves that the picture in question is almost two-years-old and it is NOT from Shaheen Bagh.
