On further investigation, we scanned through the result announced by UPSC on January 14, 2020 and did not find the name of the candidate.

Clarifying in a tweet, Banglore Mirror stated that the bus conductor who claimed to have cracked the IAS Mains exam was lying.

Editor of Bangalore Mirror, Ravi Joshi, took to Twitter to issue a clarification about the fake news.

In a series of tweets, he said, “We’ve come to know that the BMTC bus conductor who claimed to have cracked the IAS Mains exam was lying. We have reason to believe that the roll number he showed us didn’t belong to him. @bangaloremirror is taking down the story until it becomes clear why he lied to BMTC and us.”

Reportedly, BMTC is now probing how the conductor misrepresented his results and investigating the matter further.
