FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found it to be false.

We noticed that the currency in her hands is slightly different than the Indian currency. We checked and found that the notes in her hand are Bangladeshi currency notes.

On putting the image through Reverse Image search, we found several articles based on a Facebook post by Asif Akbar. The articles published in July 2019 states that the girl was kidnapped from Bagerhat city in Bangladesh nearly two years ago and this picture was taken Banani in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Contact details of the girl’s uncle were also mentioned in the post.

Previously, NewsMobile debunked a similar claim that was circulating with the above picture and then the claim suggested that she was seen in Mangalore.
