Did Thackeray family visit Ajmer dargah soon after govt formation? Here’s the truth!

Date:

A set of photographs is making rounds on social media in which Shiv Sena leaders Uddhav Thackeray and Aditya Thackeray can be seen offering a ‘chaddar’. It has been claimed that the father-son duo visited the Ajmer Drgha after Uddhav Thackeray took over a Maharashtra Chief Minister.

The caption of the post read: ”

We found many Facebook users extensively sharing the same post.

The same has been posted on Twitter.

NewsMobile fact-checked the above posts and found the claim attached to it to be FALSE.

On simply running a Reverse Image we came across an article published by The Times of India in March 2017.

PHOTO 2

The above post is actually a video report by India TV showing visuals of this visit.

PHOTO 3

Again, through a simple Reverse Image Search we found the image on a website Hello Mumbai News. The article is dated March 16, 2018 and is titled, ‘Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray Offers ‘Chadar’ At Ajmer Shariff Dargah’

Hence, these photographs are falsely shared stating a visit by Aditya Thackeray to the dargah after the Maharashtra assembly election.
