The Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance of Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP will stake claim to form the next government in Maharasthra and pending Governor’s approval is set to be sworn in here on November 28, according to NCP supremo Sharad Pawar.
The announcement came more than a month after the results for the Assembly elections in the state ending weeks of flip flop over government formation in the state.

“Three representatives of ‘Maha Vikas Aghadi’ will meet the Governor today. Swearing-in ceremony to be held at Shivaji Park, Mumbai on December 1,” NCP Chief Sharad Pawar said during a joint meeting of Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP MLAs at a hotel here
The meeting saw all legislators pass a unanimous resolution supporting Uddhav Thackeray’s name as the chief ministerial candidate and the leader of ‘Maha Vikas Aghadi’.
The development comes after Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar resigned as the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, merely three days after they were administered the oath.

After the judgment, Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan said: “Tomorrow, at 11 am, members to take oath and at 5 pm Pro-term Speaker to hold Floor Test in Maharashtra Assembly. All 3 parties (Congress-NCP-Shiv Sena) are satisfied with the Supreme Court order. Devendra Fadnavis should resign today.”

NCP leader Nawab Malik termed the SC’s order on the floor test in Maharashtra as a “milestone in Indian democracy” and claimed in days to come the Sena-NCP-Congress combine will form the government in the state.
“Today’s verdict of the SC is a milestone in Indian democracy. Before 5 pm tomorrow, it will be clear that BJP’s game is over. In a few days, there will a govt of Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress in Maharashtra,” Malik said.
