Fact Checked: No, Israel, US governments are not using robot soldiers

Date:

An amazing video of a robot in a military drill is going viral on social media with a claim that the video is of the Israelian government’s experiment of robot soldiers.

“Israel experiment of Robert soldiers” the caption reads.

Another user shared it with the caption, ” This is not a CG Robo made for film fiction. It’s real US Delta force “Robot” Training practice used in yesterday operation to kill Terrorist Al bagdi in Syria.

Hats off to these soldiers taking part in the demo with live amunition. Total faith in the robot… using AI, Machine Learning…

Technology is scary..!!”

FACT CHECK

When NewsMobile fact-checked the video, we found the claims to be wrong.

On the bottom right corner of the video, the logo of ‘Bosstown Dynamics’ is visible. We ran a search and found that the original video was uploaded by Corridor Digital on their official YouTube channel on Oct 26, 2019.

“New Robot Makes Soldiers Obsolete (Bosstown Dynamics)” the title read.

Corridor Digital is an American production studio based in Los Angeles, known for creating pop-culture-related viral online short-form videos since 2010. They also make Parody robot videos in the style of ‘Boston Dynamics’. They have several YouTube channels including Corridor Crew and Corridor.

In some of the previous videos, they show how they create fake ‘Boston Dynamics’ robots using CGI animation and VFX for their videos.

The above information proves that the robots in the viral video are not real and are CGI animations.
