Naomi Watts-starrer GoT prequel scrapped; HBO green flags another prequel

Date:

After canceling Jane Goldman and Naomi Watts’ Game of Thrones prequel, HBO has ordered ten episodes of ‘House of the Dragons’.

Based on HBO’s social media feeds, ‘House of the Dragons’ will be co-created by George RR Martin and Ryan Condal.

The untitled prequel featuring Naomi Watts had a cast that included Miranda Richardson, Joshua Whitehouse and Marquis Rodrigez.

It was said to focus on the ‘Age of Heroes’, thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones, and the first ever war between war man and White Walker, confirmed The Hollywood Reporter.

The second prequel focuses on the reign of Targaryen Kings in the lead-up to the events of GoT, aligning the vision of the project much more closely to the days of Jon Snow (Kit Karington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) than the now-scrapped Naomi starring prequel.
